GRPC School Zone Access and Safety Audit
The Gulf Regional Planning Commission (GRPC) is requesting qualifications for a scope of work to perform analyses to improve vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle safety and accessibility in and around school zones. It is not the intention of the GRPC to receive complete detailed project analysis and design prior to the selection of a proposer and the later execution of a contract. The submitted proposal shall be specific enough on assumptions as to provide the basis to be evaluated for general conformance with criteria including qualifications, experience and capability to perform safety audits to identify improvement opportunities in and around specific school zones. GRPC will initiate a process that employs a consultant to coordinate program activities with local decision-makers to identify safety hazards in the field and then identify opportunities to improve traffic circulation and safety near schools. GRPC anticipates conducting several of these type efforts and the estimate for each contract is between $2,500 and $8,000.
